Angie is doing well as can be expected, Players again please! Thanks for everyones support!
3/1/2011 Meeting with Gynecologic Specialist Doctor today and he is scheduling a lapoendoscopy/surgery to remove ovaries/tubes and any cancer associated with the area. This may be a non-invasive or more entailed depending on what he finds once he in in there. The Dr seems to think it is ovaries but said it could be many different variations of female type cancer. I will update with the date and times of the procedures as I have them. Thanks for your support and prayers.
3/14/2011 Angie has to pass a couple heart tests befors the procedure hopefully the test go ok and she is going Wednesday for the Lapoendoscopy/surgery.Hopefully we can get past these test and move on. I will keep you informed as find out.
3/15/2011 We are cleared for the procedure, I will let you know as soon as I know the time. It is being done at Mercy Hospital. Lord hear our prayer for Angie and heal her. In Jeseus name, Amen.
3/17/2011 Progress! Surgery went pretty well all things considered. The DR took almost 5 hours with Angie removing her Ovary, Uterus, and tupes. The Cancer had placed itself hidden behind and had worked itself under some leg nerves, and moved close to the colon and kidneys. The DR said that he had to tease the cancer out so as not to disturd the above mentioned areas. He said that it was a very difficult surgery and required a lot more time than he had anticipated. The DR said that he was very please with Angie and how she handled it and was also please that he got a very large specimen to send to LA for Pathology work if needed for the future. Angie is resting at Mercy Truxtun "Downtown" room 220-bed #2. I think that she will be there a few days as the surgery was so complicated and invassive to her body. Thanks for all the prayers and support you have no idea how much it is appreciated. Sorry if I did not get to everyone personally, but I am again overwelmed at times. Hope that the news just gets better from here out! Got to go hope to see you all soon with a big smile...PS sorry for all the mistakes in a hurry!
3/18/2011 Angie stood up today with some pain, but progress! She is moving around a little better in bed and her color is better. Blood count was low so they gave her 2 blood transfusions last night. She didn't sleep well so very tired today. We saw the DR this morning and he explained the Lapendoscopy pictures and the procedures for the Pathology and analizing the specimens that were taken. DR felt good about specimens and being able to treat moving forward with more knowledge of the type of cancer. Thanks again to everyone for caring and showing your concern. Hopefully Angie will be home soon and moving back to something that looks like normal, whatever normal is? I will let you know when we might go home..
3/21/2011 Angie is being released today from the Hospital .. We will be home by the afternoon. DR said that tests will be run and an appt will be set for a week baring any complications. Angie is doing fine and excited to be leaving the Hospital. Again most impressed with all the Heathcare providers, they are Saints that have a greater calling than most. I will update you soon as Angie recovers. Thanks for all the cards, visits, presents, and most of all love that you all have shown it really makes a difference that we have caring family and friends by our side.
3/23/2011 One week since surgery, Angie is moving slow but better. Pain still most of the time and discomfort most of the time. DR appointment next week with surgeon to take staples out and assess. Hopefully we might have some results back, but don't really know yet. Hope we will be out and about soon .
3/28/2011 Tomorrow Angie will see the DR/Surgeon and have the staples taken out. Unknown if the test results are back. Generally Angie is moving around a little better each day, but still in pain and sore. I will update soon!
3/29/2011 We saw the DR/Surgeon today and Angie had her staples removed. The Pathology report is back and Ovarian cancer was the the type of cancer tumor removed. Another additional report is being run down in LA to culture/grow the cancer for future treatment. All reports will be sent to CBCC DR for future treatment options. The DR said that this is like starting again now that we know primary cancer type. He said that that Ovarian cancer has more options than other types of cancer which is good. Angie is recovering still sore and pain in her back persists. Appointment next week with CDCC DR, and until then Angie will rest and recover from the extensive surgery. I will report to you all as more is known. Thanks")
4/7/2011 DR appointment at CBCC today, DR said that Angie will need a couple more weeks of recovery before starting another type of possible chemo treatment. Blood tests were good, still waiting for the specimen/culture report analysis. DR was still not totally satisfied that the pathology stains match Ovarian cancer. New treatment will likely treat multiple source and type cancer. Angie is still having back pain and on pain medicine. Hoping that as time passes Angie will feel better from the surgery and regain her strength. I will let you know how she is doing.
4/14/2011 Angie will be starting a new Chemo treatment next week. We have a meeting Monday to explain the treament. The treatment will be 2 weeks with a week off. The treatment will be a one day Chemo per week. I will let you know more after Monday.

6/6/2011 Angie had a tough weekend, Chemo kicked her butt.. Very tired and persistent pain. Nauseated at times and losing weight. I think this form of chemo is much strong and side affects are worse. Say another prayer and keep us in your thoughts, hopefully this week it will get better. Dr appt this week with pet scan results.
6/8/2011 Pet Scan results show some spreading to the liver and lower back. DR is changing the chemo treatment in hopes of localizing the treatment to the liver. The new chemo will be in pill form. Not the results we had hoped and prayed for.. The new treatment will start next week. Thanks to all for the support and kind thoughts..
6/13/2011 Today Angie and I will get a new intro-class for her new chemo. The new chemo will be a pill that Angie will take a couple times a day. The DR said that the pill will address the liver more quickly in this form by going through the liver itself. Angie is very tired and still in some pain. Looking forward to more success with the new chemo. This form of chemo is an off shoot of the original chemo that worked well when we started her treatments. Thanks for all the love from everyone... PS sorry about the dates on the prior posting I lost my place...Corrected I do know what day it is :)
6/16/2011 Angie had a blood test yesturday to prepare for her new chemo pills. Red count is down and she is getting another blood Transvusion today. White count is high and they are concerned why? No apparent fever or infection... She is starting the Chemo Pills today and will take them twice a day for 2 weeks and then take a week off and then resume with monitoring. Appreciate again all the support:) Prayers THX
6/20/2011 Pretty good weekend Angie is doing a little better. Eating better and may have gained a little weight. She seems to be handling the Chemo pills pretty well considering. Thanks for all the cards and meal support Angie, Eric and I are so very appreciative of all your caring.
6/24/2011 Looks like Angie will need another transfusion next week blood counts still low. Still very tired and in pain. She had a type of calcium infusion for her bones yesturday not sure if that has helped or caused some additional pain. Hopefully things will get better soon. Difficult for Angie to get around we will be home bound for now.
6/29/2011 Another transfusion today because Angie's red blood cell count continues to remains low. Finishing up her first 2 week round with the chemo pills and then she will get a week off before starting another round. Happy 4th to everyone.
7/1/2011 Appt with the DR yesturday went pretty well. Some issues with swelling and pains persists, but new chemo pills seems to be going ok with some side effects that Angie seems to handling. Still don't have new blood results till Wednesday. One week off the Chemo pills and then back on next week. DR did say that Liver function was better according to last blood test. Happy 4th to everyone enjoy!

7/25/2011 This is my last entry, sorry I could not muster up the guts to report hospice and Angie going off Chemo because it wasn't working.
